Abstract

Globalization has increased the importance of preparing students to understand cultural diversity, global interdependence, and international cooperation. This paper examines the contribution of social science education to developing global citizenship competencies among students. It explores curriculum design, intercultural education, and collaborative learning approaches that encourage respect for diversity and human rights. The study argues that integrating global perspectives into social science education promotes empathy, cultural awareness, and responsible citizenship. The paper recommends curriculum reforms that reflect contemporary global challenges and multicultural societies.
