Abstract

Environmental sustainability has become an essential component of contemporary education. This paper explores how social science education can integrate sustainability concepts to develop environmentally responsible citizens. It discusses interdisciplinary teaching approaches that connect environmental issues with economics, politics, geography, and social development. The study highlights the value of project-based learning, community engagement, and policy discussions in promoting sustainable thinking. The paper concludes that sustainability education strengthens students' awareness of global environmental challenges and encourages informed civic action.
